Austria wants to avoid difficult Brexit, Kurz tells May
UK Prime Minister Theresa May on Friday discussed Brexit with the leader of Austria, which presently holds the rotating European Union presidency. Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said he hopes to find a “solution” by October, AP reported. The visit came amid differences between Britain and the EU over the terms of a future trade relationship and how to handle the Irish border issue. Kurz said that “it’s imperative to avoid a difficult Brexit.” The chancellor also invited May to attend a performance of Mozart’s “The Magic Flute” at the Salzburg Festival on Friday.
