The (CTM) of the Institute of Road Traffic Education (IRTE) in India, has initiated and undertaken a number of actions in the area of road safety and traffic management.
has introduced and started Asia‘s first two-year Postgraduate (PG) degree duration Master of Science (MSc) in Traffic Management to equip students with skills to manage and design the traffic and transportation management systems.
It will create skills of students to figure out the basis and complexities of traffic management through the process of diligence work, globally applied best practices. The duration will deal with transport and traffic engineering, driver training and fleet management, road safety audits, road crash investigations, traffic engineering, , road asset financing and post-crash management.
“IRTE has taken the first step in the domain of ‘Manpower capacity building‘ in the Traffic and transportation management sector. The first global Masters of Science in Traffic Management has been given approval by the Government of and Maharshi Dayanand University to be conducted at IRTE‘s College of Traffic Management from August 2018. Maximum of 30 seats are being offered to include in-service participants and students from South East Asia,” says Rohit Baluja, president, Institute of Road Traffic Education (IRTE).
The duration will create a way to new career prospects in both public and private sector in areas including transport planning and policy, traffic engineering and management. CTM-IRTE will facilitate the students of MSc Traffic Management in getting placed in organisations like legal firms, automobile companies, hospitals, primary centre, NGO‘s Dealing with Road Safety Management, academic institutions dealing with Transport Planning. Graduates will be able to work as senior professionals in local, state and federal government agencies such as road and transport authorities, public and private sector transport operators and local and international consulting organisations.
