COIMBATORE: On the occasion of the Velankanni festival, believers from the district may find travelling to and from the holy town a little smoother. The Southern Railway has introduced four further trains from Velankanni that will pass through Coimbatore, and .
The railway has introduced two trains from Velankanni to Vasco and another two trains from Velankanni to Sawantwadi Road. While one of the trains will leave Velankanni at 8.15pm on August 29 and September 3 and reach Vasco at 10.30pm the next day, the different train to Vasco will leave Velankanni on September 8 at 8.15pm and reach Vasco at 11.50pm the next day.

The two trains to Sawantwadi Road will leave Velankanni at 8.15pm on August 29, September 3 and September 8 and will reach Sawantwadi Road at 11.55pm. The train that will leave on September 8 will reach the destination only at 12.50 am on September 10.
The further fare trains will be equipped with an AC 3-tier coach and a sleeper class. The Velankanni Sawantwadi train will be run combined with Velankanni Vasco train but will separate at Madgaon and run as a separate train.
