Nagpur: Rahul Chavan, assistant engineer with ash handling plant of Mahagenco’s Khaparkheda Thermal Power Station (KTPS), has remained untraceable since August 9 this year. He had left his official quarters at Khaparkheda and did not return. The cops are now circulating his photographs in social media in a hope to trace him.
Chavan was granted three days’ leave for work rendered in the peak stage along with nonstandard engineers. While his wife was feeding their five-year-old daughter, Chavan left home without his mobile phone. Police said CCTV footages scanned so far and intelligence gathered revealed Chavan had been spotted at Wardha which is yet to be confirmed.

Senior PI Ashok Sakharkar of Khaparkheda police station said Chavan was a reticent person who did not shared much with others. “Chavan’s interaction with the family was less. It cannot be denied he had been unusually silent,” said Sakharkar. “We have circulated his photographs and details in social media groups at different districts. Police are hopeful of receiving some feedback soon,” he said. The cops are trying to ascertain whether Chavan had stayed away from home in the past too.
PI Sakharkar said they were trying to collect clues about Chavan from his relatives, friends and colleagues. “We are trying to ascertain the reason behind Chavan leaving home,” he said.
